For you Buick Riviera fans....I'm sure you wanted to see a convertible version..offered from 1982 through 1985 by American Sunroof Corporation. My guess is they were shipped there for final assembly, typical of how convertible Mustangs were produced prior to 2005. A nice example!

  • thanx bro yeah sound alot more complicated then i thought mayb i should look into it but at the same time i just dropped a rebuilt 307 in it but i could always take the motor out fist i guess

  • @2DOPE210 Yeah, this is the most complicated thing you do to a car, because you're changing the structural rigidity of the car. Maybe the best thing would be to find a Riv convertible in dicey condition and fix it up. Thanks!

    :) Jack

  • i want to make my 85 riviera convertable but u im not sure how to do it

  • @2DOPE210 I'm not sure, but I think Buick sent out these cars to be made into convertibles...Mustang did a similar thing with their Fox body convertibles. It is a very complicated thing...the chassis needs to be reinforced because you're cutting off the top of the car...and the back seats have to be modified to be narrower, a top mechanism put into place, hydraulic motor installed for the top, new top bought...so much I'd never attempt it. Maybe you could trade for a convertible. Thnx! Jack

  • Love the RARE digital instrument cluster !

  • @2FOLLOW Glad this had one...I don't know enough about Rivieras to recognize that! Thanks for the comment! :) Jack

  • @123Trumpeter Hey, Mason! Unfortunately it's not my car...maybe one of the viewers out there can offer some suggestions! Being a Buick, it should serve you well! Thanks! :) Jack

  • I have one, great car. Has a Buick 350. Any tips about it. just got it. All Original (except engine) Great condition.

  • @cheddyrod Hey, Chester! I would agree...this car stands out as something worth saving from an otherwise lackluster group of cars! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Red interior in a white convertible does look nice. The 80s weren't generally a good decade for GM, but this one is an exception. Very nice shape.
