Why are u never talking about mode ? U say learn Major-Melodic-Harmonic-wholetone and diminished, but modes are FAR more important and useful to learn then these exotic scales! :o

LOL. So you think they are "exotic' ha ha. Well every 7 note scale has 7 "modes" created by it, and the major scale modes are all major scales starting on each note of the scale. Yngwie calls the 5th mode of the harmonic minor scale the phrygian mode when it should actually be called a phrygian major. Modes are not FAR more important than major scales - they ARE major scales.

I understand, but modes are scale in itself. If you want, for exemple, to play a solo in A aeolian, do u say to yourself : Right, "A" minor is the sixth mode of the "C" major scale so I'll play the C major scale but starting on the A note... ??
It's far more valuable to learn and use them as differents scales, and not "relatif of the major scales", no ??

No you look at things from at least 3 different angles. Modes complicate things a lot. The parent scales are what all the pros think of not each indiovidual mode - too restrictive.
Playing a solo in A Aeolian - no you dont say ok I am playing C but starting on A - that is not how you solo - you start on ANY Note not only A. You play the entire PATTERN of the scale on THE NECK - which happens to be C major so all you need to think of is the PATTERN of C on the neck. Modes are ridiculous.
