RCA master 79246-2, rec. Hollywood, 8 June 1934.
Sol K. Bright (voc, steel-g), unknown (vocs & instrs).
A classic by this excentric master of the steel guitar. Interesting that Hawaiian groups never seem to have any problems with harmony vocals.

  • Together with Sol Hoopii and Jim and Bob one of the greatest steel guitar-players! Fantastic! Also I love the singing!

  • Fantastic ! Just a few weeks ago I put a recording of 'Heat Wave' by Sol K Bright and his Hollywaiians here on Youtube !! Great to hear another recording !! FAB !!

  • thanks for posting, vielen dank fürs in Youtube bringen! ein wunderschöner Song, as bright and fresh like 90 years ago!

  • Sol had a brief speaking role in Waikiki Wedding, the Bing Crosby movie. His playing style was very much the vaudeville style with plenty of gimmicks to delight audiences. It would be great to see his stuff reissued.
