When you're talking dunking and making it look smooth, yet with the force of a sledgehammer, you have to mention Dr. J at the top of that list. But D Thompson wasn't far behind.

The ABA with Dr J and David Thompson was entertaining. The red, white and blue ball and the huge afros, that was a very funky time.

During that era, next to or after the Doctor, at 6'4" David Thompson was the most explosive leaper and dunker on a consistent basis with Doc. This guy had the original 44 inche vertical. He was very great before the knee went out.

Julius/Thompson was good, but how about Thompson/Gervin, the ABA was exciting .

People today dont realize the great games Julius and Thompson played against one another. It was Doc's 1976team that beat the Nuggets in the last of the ABA's championship. Doc went off in that series.
