KU Women's Health Specialty Centers, Labor and Delivery Suites

The Labor Suites at the University of Kansas Hospital offers expectant mothers a family centered birthing environment with a combination of state-of-the-art technology and spa-like comfort.The newly renovated facilities offers 11 Family Center Birthing Rooms that have the comforts of home, but can also be transformed into a fully functional intensive care unit for mother and child. Each suite is equipped and ready for even the most complex deliveries as might be provided by the KU Center for Advanced Fetal Care.

The labor suites will also facilitate the education of four to six new obstetricians for the state of Kansas every year; dozens of medical students from the University of Kansas School of Medicine will also receive training in this facility.
