Once again the residents of Newhall, Valencia, and Canyon Country came united in their message that they do not want the Avenue project in their back yard.
This is a project that started at 500,000 sq ft then grew into a 2.5 million sq foot project over the course of 2 years. Why? Because the developers and Lobbyist Jeff Lambert know how to usurp the good, safety, and quality of life of 7 bedroom communities for the good of a rich client.
The people here know they want to build way over zoning and that's the problem. The developer and the lobbyist are insiders who think they can sidestep the rules and contribute to political campaigns for a future yes vote on a project that is way out of zoning, the SCV Master plan, and destructive to 7 bedroom neighborhoods. No way Mr. James Rogers, Not in our back yard!

Fighting property development when it's over sized to the point of neighborhood wrecking, then citizens need to stand up and join together and demand a better project. Not doing so would ensure the precedence for developers to take advantage of local communities who have payed their dues for a beautiful place to live.
