Recovery heart rate is how fast the heart rate declines after exercise. Abnormalities associated with impaired heart rate recovery can be a sign of health problems. Learn more about how the average recovery heart rate should fall at least 12 beats in the first minute with information from a board-certified cardiologist in this free video on heart health.

  • mine is also about 900 beats per minute

  • mine drops by like 90 beats per minute. i can be at 150 and its back to resting hr in 30 seconds

  • Doesn't the drop in the heart rate after an exercise depends on the intensity of the exercise? It will not always drop by 12 beats per minutes, if you're doing High Intensity Interval Training.
