These photographs comes from my uncle Eino Sikalas albums, he fought in the Finnish army during WWII. This film is a tribute to all Finnish soldiers who fought and died in this war.

You have done well to make this video...my ancestors are from Vaasa province and went to America from 1893 to 1902 and made their homes in Upper Peninsula of Michigan where many Finns went.

Itsekin rupesin kerran ajattelemaan, omaa isoisääni joka 16 vuotiaana sotaan meni, että minkähän laista oli elämä silloin, ja minkälaista se sota oikeasti on vaikka eihän sitä voi itsetietää kun en ole onneksi sotaan joutunut
