  • Apparently different combinations of beams create different effects, some of which Phantoon has specific weaknesses to.

I recommend GameFaqs for further researche.

  • Jesus....that's amazing bomb jumping.

  • 1st Time - He specifically hits Phantoon with 2 charged Ice Shots, a missile, and a charged Spazer/Wave shot (Whoops, that makes a maximun of 4 hits, not 3). This conditions Phatoons HP so the next two attempts will kill him.

2nd - Two charged S/W shots and a I/S/W shot for maximum damage without making Phantoon go crazy

3rd - Two charged S/W shots and a Super Missile gets his HP to exactly 0 and doesn't trigger the berserk mode.

It's a totally efficient way to kill him fast and safely.

  • I think I understand, but it is pretty complicated. I'll try to explain it.

When Phantoon's injured and exposed, I believe there's both a maximum of 3 attacks you can land on him and a minimum amount of damage he can take before he dissipates. Hotarubi is basically maximizing the amount of damage he can inflict.

More importantly though, he's also reducing Phantoon's HP systematically so it only takes 3 moments of vulnerability to take him down. (More in next post)

  • what's with all the beam switching during phantoon...?
