I surfed Spanish House the morning after seeing Jaws back in '75 or '76. Just as we were about to jump in and paddle out, a fin cruised by. We waited for it to get further down the beach, then paddled out. Stupid!

I grew up in the Miami area, we used to go up coast all the time from about 1975 thru 78' Sebastian Inlet, Ft Peirce, Stuart, Melbourne, Cocoa, all great surf spots. We found Spanish House just walking the beach from Sebastian, and the break was real good so started going there always, until the secret was out and it got crowded.At first only a few locals surfed there, because the inlet was a battle. I miss that place and haven't been back in 35 years or more!

Nice to see some 70's surfing. Maybe not as many tricks but a lot more style. The newer boards in the right hands make for a progression from those days but the Surfers of then, many of whom are still rippping were just as good then as the kids of today.
