Hey guys! I made a Step-by-Step Guide to make an underwater housing for a camcorder. Since I wanted to keep the costs down, I decided not to buy one, but rather to build a cheap one from scratch! You can get all the parts at ACE hardware. Remember to test your housing for leaks before you put in a camera! Visit us at:

  • Hey man. Great video! Im gonna make one of these pretty soon here and I was just wondering how deep you have gone with yours. Im hoping it will go a couple feet at least. Thanks for the idea!

  • @MrSpicy714 You bet it will go a couple feet ;) Used mine at about 60 feet and got some amazing footage. Remember to always test the housing before you use it with your camera

  • Are you using silicone tape or teflon tape?

  • @alwaysopen

    I used Teflon Tape...

  • ...cool...nice and simple...lens is recessed into the pvc. Am curious if the edge of the pipe which extends over the clear lens shows up in your images?

  • @waveriderz

It won't if you make sure the camera doesn't slide back in the housing. As long as it stays right at the lens it won't show...

  • couldn't you just use a zip lock

  • Get a gopro

  • one thing you forgot.

    HOW MUCH!!!!!!!!!

  • thankyou jubetool , I made your design here in Australia for $50, ive also made a video using your camera housing design, its called tweed river snorkeling at the river mouth, thanks mate, its funny how your design has helped me on the other side of the world .

  • I dunno if it has been said but it'd be an idea if you figured out the space between the back of the camera and the rear lid and attach something to the inside of the lid to fill the space and stop the camera from sliding as I'm sure it does if you have a small camera.

  • great video!

  • you should cut out the side and make an ext. cover for the screen

  • good video,but you could be a test :)

  • and a quick tip for using teflon tape: when applied, use a flat head screw driver or the blunt side of a knife, and slide it around the threads to push the tape deeper into the grooves. u know ur good to go when the top of the threads cut through the tape (: !!

  • it works great thanks man
