  • I found 2 but the hubs are diffrent, one vent is open.

  • I've heard. ;)

  • Very nice!

We had a Lasko version of this from 1984. Same identical cabinet/motor mount, same plastic motor. Same blade set. Unfortunately, it only lasted about 2 years. That was when we got those brown and tan Lakewood 223s.

That aside, I just love the way the motor mount looks and the badge in the middle on these fans.

  • Thanks! I like these too, but i wouldnt use this particular one everday, fearing that the motor will overheat and burn out. So I'm hoping to preserve this one, and use it on random fun occasions. I just love the look on the hub on this blade set, and same with the Galaxy logo on the center. :)

  • Nice fan! My parents actually still have the model just after this one. Has one slot in the hub and no Galaxy badge on the grille. Same plastic motor.

Be very careful if you decide to remove that spring clip as they are pretty stout and it takes a lot of force to compress them. EVERY one I have taken off a Lasko has slipped off the jaws of the pliers and went flying. Could easily damage your eye.

  • Thanks good to know. I'll wear some saftey glasses to to protect my eye balls :)

  • nice Galaxy i have the almost same one the motor braces are diffrant. but you can oil them. and great video as well

  • Mines looked like that, but it had a themostat and it was three speed

  • Mines looked like that but it had a themostat in it.

  • its hard to tell by the video quality but the motor looks like the one in my superelectric box fan.

  • Plus the one I bought off of you....These have been poping up alot lately....

  • WOw that is a nice one! I love old Galaxy's!

  • wow i have the same exact fan but mine has a metal lakewood p-23 style motor!

  • These were actually pretty good by today's standards. If you keep the bearings oiled every year, they'll last forever. The problem is that the bearings get dry, and cling to the shaft then spin in the plastic housing.
