I've choked someone out that was just wearing a t-shirt because he said it wasn't possible. I just grabbed a lot of fabric so the tee wouldn't rip that fast but I could hear it slowly tear as I was choking him.

Interesting chokes but I still choose no gi over gi simply because where I'm from most of the time what people wear really isn't a Gi. They wear shorts a lot with t shirt, so i'm not going to rely on that and have something that always works.
