Off topic, but newsworthy: Rachel Maddow loves Sarah Palin and Keith Olberman is jealous about the relationship. He thinks that because he was responsible for Rachel getting the MSNBC position, pushing Dan Abrams out, he should be able to be Rachel's boyfriend, not Sarah

We need to repeal the 12th amendment. The unelected post of the VP was not in the original plan for the nation and now we finally see the trouble caused by its now the executive, now the congressional ambiguous status.

If the president and vice president die or are incapacitated, then the Speaker of the House is next in the line of succession. In this case, though, the president is still in place, so he is empowered to replace the VP.
