Fugue in G minor performed by CooolJazzz.

Stereo MP3
http://coooljazzz.com/music/Fugue.mp3

Soprano 1, Soprano 2, and Alto 1 are each doubled in unison. Alto 2 is also doubled, but the 2nd track has been digitally lowered by one octave for a Baritone effect. There are a total of eight individually recorded tracks, all played by me.

(please don't ask for sheet music)

  • why didnt you use real saxes????

  • They are all very real saxophones. The only reason that one of the alto tracks has been digitally lowered by an octave is because I only own an alto and a soprano at the moment.

  • Hey Joseph...this is really great!

I love Bach very much...it sounds very powerfull the way you interpret the piece!

Sorry that I watch it so late my friend..I was also a little busy this time with my job(after the holidays)..and life in general...smile(how ever...!)

I think this take has to be enjoyed with your STEREO MP3-LINK ;-)

Mr Goldenhorn...best wishes from your friend..

hope you are fine ? !

    Manuel

  • Thank you, Manuel.

You do realize that this one was your fault...right? You inspired me to do this one after listening to one of your classical pieces. I think I even mentioned to you that I might dust it off and give it a whirl.

My screen name may be CooolJazzz, but I often find great satisfaction going back to the roots of my classical training. I especially love Bach.

  • Well done CooolJazzz! I posted a saxophone attempt of mine recently. Looking for tips.

Have you got a midi for this one?

    Cheers,

    Bruce

  • Thanks, Bruce.

I did modify this arrangement from a string quartet midi I found somewhere on the internet. I downloaded so many of them that I'm not even sure which one I ended up drawing the most from, but there are a ton of midis out there for this one.

  • truly amazing. you must have spent a lot of time on this, but it clearly payed off.

  • Beautiful. I helped my friends rehearse my senior year of high school (they were playing the Canadian Brass version if you are familiar with that version. If not, it's just a Brass arrangement) by playing the Soprano on one of the trumpet parts. Brings up good memories.
