GREASE: It's still the word! Energized by dynamic, thrill-loving high school personalities from 1959, GREASE's rock-and-roll score continues to inspire our nation's cultural heritage with hits like "You're The One That I Want," "We Go Together," and the show-stopping "Greased Lightning." GREASE book, music and lyrics were written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey and originally opened in New York City's Eden Theatre in 1972, later inspiring the wildly popular 1978 movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Today, GREASE remains an audience favorite around the nation and shakes up the stage at Traverse City Central High School on November 10-20. In the iconic tale, sweethearts Sandy Dumbrowski and Danny Zuko ignite sparks when they unexpectedly reunite at high school after saying good-by to their summer romance. With pals alongside, the student characters deal humorously and thoughtfully with various teen issues and personal friendships.
