  • The Radio Ron “YouTube” e-book calls for readers to support the Orangutan Appeal UK – who are celebrating their 10th year charity status. The Appeal works on behalf of the famous Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, Sabah, Malaysia.

What a treasure! I love the graphic of him on the cover! It's a fascinating story and all so informative and engaging.

  • Fantastic story, especially for boys - there isn't a lot of good stories for boys, and experts think that this may be one of the reasons why boys do not read as much as girls in childhood.

Way to go Sandra! I love it.

  • @dupontsalter Very interesting point. I had not written the Radio Ron series strictly for boys - although I do have 2 sons, and they love the story! You raise a valid point. I'm hoping this e-book will appeal to all as it presents reading in a fun manner. Kids can listen to the narration, mute the sound and try and read and repeat. I hope they will learn about Orangutans etc - I know my boys had dozens of questions. I've developed some educator notes if of interest - pls drop me an email.

  • @MyGlobalEventReports To confirm yr point. Currently boys face an unprecedented literary crisis that limits their opportunities, citing studies showing that the gap between the sexes - dating back to the 19th Cen. - has increased markedly. What is known is that boys generally take longer to learn to read than girls; they read less and are less enthusiastic about it; and they have more trouble understanding narrative texts yet are better at absorbing informational texts. Maybe this will help!
