I hate how mothers call their grown sons children just because they may be their progeny. We have a VOLUNTEER military entirely composed of adults. Those are MEN and WOMEN who serve the country in Iraq and they knew what they were signing up for. Doesn't mean the occupation wasn't a TERRIBLE idea, but it does mean we should avoid introducing emotion into the issue. We all feel bad for them, that's not the point.

I love how enties in America like to blame their own side for wars and not Islamic fanatics high on religion who are bent on establishing a universal caliphate on this earth. Agreed. I feel bad for soldiers dying, but as you pointed out. No civilian is FORCED to go into combat.  People SIGN UP for the army.

And when you join the army, what the FUCK do you think you're getting into if NOT getting shot at? Many people sign up to the army with the mindset that they're going to "shoot some towel heads" etc.

Well, frankly, when you join the army, you're signing up with a higher than normal chance that you will die.
