That was a joke bud...I love climbing towers. I will tell you though climbing opened a door into a sweet job in the wireless industry for me. I am now working as a site acquisition specialist...and its cake if you don't a little paperwork every once in a while.

Thats obviously a cell tower. I'm curious, do they still power up the antenna's while your up there, or do they shut them down?

Also, regarding weather, I assume you guys only go out on fair weather days with no chance of lightning right?

One last question, what is your most common service that you do? Angle adjustments? Replacements of fittings? Replacements of the antennas?

no,no, and that was a third party audit for a new wireless company. evaluation basically and fixing minor details.

hell yeah...how many people can say they look forward to going to work every day? i work for a small company though so we do get stuck helping do the "civil" work sometimes insead of climbing...shovels suck! (btw who the hell gave the -1 to me)

hey dude i have a question theres this tower/transformer i climb un professionally just out of fun, i can hear the electricity going thru it, i just want to know if i can be shocked by it. im not sure what kind of tower it is but its just the kind that connects power lines through forrests, a reply would be cool thanks man

Not bad, I had a video of one of my old crews when we were stacking a little 330' guyed tower with a gin-pole. But the company I worked for at the time "borrowed" it for training purposes and I never saw it again.

At this height all it would be is extra weight to carry up. It would never have time to open. 12 years doing this crap, and once you learn it, it's hard to get away from it. Py has always been good for me and since I am now with larger company I hven't chased a check in 2 years.
