From: http://www.youtube.com/user/hckygrl4 I like watching the stretching videos...stretching is one of my favorite things to do.

I have some pretty serious TMJ problems on the left side of my jaw and face. It went away for a month, but it's slowly starting to come back and I can't live with that pain again. Do you have any suggestions for stretching or anything to possibly help that?

I'm going to be honest here in that my chiropractor isn't helping in that area at all. The pain went away on it's own...and some of the things she'll do to me make it hurt even when it wasn't.

I've been a life long sufferer of headaches and if you have any tips that may help me I would appreciate that, especially as I'm going to be going into a pretty stressful field in the next few years with school and then finally working.

Thank you for anything you can give me,

  • Hey, I think that working out lately has started to cause a lot of TMJ problems on my left side. I've been trying a lot of different things and nothing seems to give it any relief. I just tried everything you said for the first time, and it already feels better than it did 10 minutes ago. I am going to keep doing these exercises and hopefully with the continuation of them, finally get some relief! Thanks a lot!

  • Thank you for your suggestions on how to make your TMJ relax. I tried your massages and techniques and they worked pretty good for me. I will keep using them because I realize my jaws won't relax overnight since I have had TMJ for at least 20 years. Any suggestions will help me sleep better and perhaps I won't feel my jaw bone slipping as I am going to sleep.

  • Hey you guys I've had lock jaw for about 2 years now I'm 15 years old yeah I know it sucks. I fell into a deep depression because I was so scared about this thing. But here's the thing some people have worth deseases than this and I know this hurts and all but be graceful that you are okay. Always look on the bright side and know that God will always be there for you when you need of him. My lock jaw isn't bad any more in the morning my jaw gets locked but I move it side to side and it goes bac

  • Great video

  • Thank you!

  • FUUUCCKK MMMEEE!!!!! I tried the three finger thing you showed, now I can barely open my mouth cus it hurts so bad!!!

Does Tmj make it feel like if you try to force your jaw open, somethings goin to rip or brake?? Also, my jaw felt like it seized up for a second after I left it closed for a while.. This all happened today and Im kinda nervous about goin to sleep, cus I dont want to wake up and have my jaw stuck.

  • i dont feel that much pain its just annoying every time it cracks

  • I'll try to do this massages to see if i can relax my muscles in order to stop all this noise that cames from my jaw..

Is it possible that all this pain and noise from my jaw, that happens when i open my mouth, could be related to my braces ???

Because it only started after i got it a year ago...hope you can help me.

    Merry Christmas! Cheers

  • Thanks for sharing this, It really helps! I have a very similar issue to what you were responding to. I'll try this out and see if it helps.

I have a slight mandibular occlusion on the left side and the main stress seems to be that the right side fits in place, but only with the muscular imbalance from the uneven bite. Now I'm stuck eating soft foods and I have semi-severe migraines daily, neck tension, & occasional lower back pain. I am struggling to focus on daily tasks. I feel for others :(

  • Down to earth video for massaging sore muscles around TMjoints. Of course, if you have TMD (chronic sleep bruxing), massage won't prevent eventual damage and pain. Best to rule out, or diagnose (then stop) TMD. d.y.i. sleep studies, using an ipod sized EMG, that you rent from a dentist. If you have TMD, stop it with CES biofeedback option - google Grindcare USA, for the best unit I've found. Too many assume diagnoses and start expensive treatments, when you should diagnose & non-invasively.
