These ants seem to cause pain but not fatality. But enough should kill, maybe 1 sting to sensitive person. Other insects--wattle cups, puss and lonomia caterpillars, Australian bulldog ants, Maricopa harvester ants, Japanese hornets and cow killer ants, clearly have more toxicity--including common red wasp, as few as 30 red wasp stings cause death in non-hypersensitive adult. And, there will be no corresponding scorpion ritual, it could not be survived.
