I would have rang in too soon for the Fame Game answer.I thought sure it was Susan Stafford until Jim Perry said Miss USA 1975, then I knew he was referring to Ms. Bartholomew. Two clips have been on you tube and appear to be from around 1978.Summer did Wheel at least twice that I know of.She was on for 2 or 3 weeks in late 1982 before Vanna White and Vicky McCarty auditioned to take over for Susan.I always wondered why Merv Griffin didn't choose Summer. I thought she turned the letters great!
i have a feeling that IF she had went all the way, the show probably would have lasted at least another year. (including winning the $50k) the show could have lasted at least another year because it would've shown the viewers that this format wasn't as cheap as it seemed.) (if a player did well enough their final total could've been close to what would be considered a normal total for the other 2 formats.) ($130-140k) although it probably woulda been even more than that considering her total.)
This was a 1988 episode, not 1987; note Don Morrow announcing.

I always thought that Jay stewart was the best sale of the century announcer, the guy on this video this guy does not sound very enthusatic.
