Let me just warn anyone who has watched this video and thinks that is is 'Safe' to disassemble a CRT monitor. These tubes can hold a lethal charge of electricity (about 30 kilovolts that's 30,000 volts) that lasts for at least several months but can last for over two years. Secondly, the tube is also contains an immense vacuum, if he had dropped that tube, an implosion could have occurred, resulting in large peices of glass flying around the room.

@LukaStrazisar sorry if I called you names...I always try to be polite here but you have to admit it was a foolish thing to do. I put a tube in the trash bin one time and hit it with a hammer...I wanted to see what really happens well it exploded. I was a reckless kid too, but now I'm an old fart and learned my lesson.

Don't be Stupid and do this at home...I wonder what they did with the tube. The picture tubes are very dangerous, they blow up when broken. Don't be a stupid Jerk like this guy...if he had dropped that tube it would have exploded and someone could have lost their eyesight.

Hey be careful some of those tubes can hold charges for a couple months after the TV has been unplugged.
