recieving a nursing degree that gives you certification to work over dying people in a hospice that you recieved from an online class without any practical training?
I'm not sure the best use of YouTube is reading a syllabus? How about "illustrating" the syllabus with a catchy video? Or showing the instructor explain this? Or adding some music? This is like creating a transparency and then reading it to a class, in my opinion.
Yes. I'm certain we will hit upon limits almost immediately (size, form, quality) as we try to make YouTube do what learning in academia requires. The question is can we work past the limits, or will we make new demands or forms...
Hello! I just read your email and came to see this. It will certainly be an interesting class... I have never seen anything like this before. Seeing the syllabus in a video form made me realize how limited this format is. Because of the limited size and quality of the video file, all the letters are blurred, and I have to depend only on your voice. I tried to find out where our class is held in this video, and it was almost impossible! (By the way, it's Scott Hall 230, right?)
It's a lot easier to read if you click the button on the far lower right of the browser to view it in fullscreen. It's still fuzzy, but you can get a much better idea of the shape of the letterish-looking things, and people familiar with the language should have no problem. But when making a video that features text on paper in this way, zooming in so that the viewer doesn't HAVE to maximize the screen is best.
