The Apostle movie with Robert Duvall - In this scene you see the Apostle E.F. fighting with a troublemaker. After that he sings with his church "I love to tell the Story". Later in the movie the troublemaker accepts the Lord Jesus as his personal Saviour. - This is a great movie!

  • Whoever developed the plot for this film was spot-on. My forebears produced a number of rural southern preachers, and they were just like this...compassionate, dedicated, and willing to throw a punch (and buddy, they'd win the fight) for the sake of their congregations.

This is an accurate portrayal of the kind of committed dedication that was once part of American religion, but no more.

  • I'm from Britain, and I think this film is about the only secular made film I've seen which actually understands much about Christian faith.

  • Ole redneck E.F. got righteously fired up when he called his people the "N" word I love this movie!

  • Duvall is awesome. I wish there was no death so people like him could go on acting forever.

  • @flexdream --- one of the cast members is from Britain. (the young lady who worked at the radio station)

  • I would have visited E.F. congregation. It may have been more exciting to see.

  • Two people didn't take their hats off in church

  • this looks pretty good id like to see the full movie.

  • I am a Pentacostal / Full Gospel / Charismatic Evangelist and have have served in fulltime ministry since 2000 and I believe this movie is one of the most accurate portrayals of what is to be in ministry and the reality of Gods call on a man or womans life. When the Lord calls you its for life!! Thank you Robert Duvall.

  • @NearbyPlovis Growing up in rural Arkansas, we actually had a character like this...a fervent evangelist who was also a felon. Makes me wonder if the screenwriter wasn't looking into my old neighborhood.

  • @moproducer "Whoever developed the plot for this film was spot-on." I should point out that the reason the main character E.F. isn't revealing his full name in this scene is that he's a wanted killer, who is arrested and put in jail at the end of the movie. Part of why this movie is so great is that the filmmaker understands that we are ALL of us sinners. THAT is the part of the Christian faith missing from so much modern-day American religion.
