Just people who don´t have real love for this game can compare Pelé and Maradona or Cruyff or whatever.
I mean, you can make a choice for yourself (I love Maradona's imagination and dribbling and that make him my favorite, but I love the unique touch of Zidane too, or the unbelievable goalscoring hability of Romario and what can I say about Pelé, a real monster) but it doesn´t make any sense to state who is he greatest as if it could possible be stated. We just can enjoy them, and that´s a lot

@partidoalto1 True, but I've seen a number of wild challenges on Maradona designed to injure him as well.

ronaldo(not the potrugese guy)is the best ever pace power skill he the man
Pele is the greatest athlete to play the game. He changes the sport. Great as Maradona was he was not in the realm of how Pele afected the game of football. I care to ask who Maradona watched growing up and playing the game of football. Pele played in the era where teams purposedly planned to injure him and take him out of the game to have a chance in competing with Brasil (1962 and 1966 World Cups). Maradona had the advantage of media /TV to showcase his greatness and Pele did not. Case closed.
