@polygamous1 Id have to agree about the leeching problem yes. but do you know who most of the 14 trillion is owed to??? The American people, if the gov. gets 100 dollars in taxes and spends 120 dollars, then that 20 dollars extra is owed to the taxpayer (which will never be payed back seeing how it isnt real) Im not defending the US government or its ridiculous policies by any means, but dont underestimate the American peoples will power. @bmc868 your right the Chinese have us outnumbered but it is extreamly difficult to feed, train,deploy and supply 1.5 billion people. More people does not always mean better. Even when China becomes the worlds leading economy, not alot will change. The United States has the worlds most widely accepted culture, worlds most widely accepted currency and the worlds most experinced and well trained well equipted military force so dont make the mistake of thinking the US is out of the game just yet

yea our credit rating has droped but the US has been in worse times and come out on top.The United States has conqured and settled a continent, won 2 world wars (saved China from Japanese occupation), split the atom and put a man on the moon. all in 230 years, and China is over 2000 years old. We have defeated the British Empire, the Spanish Empire ,the Nazi Empire, the Japanese Empire and the Soviet Empire. So I dont think that droping a credit rating will be our demise.
