The Designline Eco-Saver IV Hybrids will be going to Michael J Quill Depot. It was tested on routes like the M42, M27, M50, M98 and now testing on the M9!

A 35ft version of this bus was tested and it was successful, hence allowing the order of the new Designline buses.

About 30 or so buses will be at MJQ with the possibility of knocking off some of the TMCs that they have. Only up to 8 buses will be here by this year and running in service.

Engine and Transmission specifications are as follows

Capstone C30 MicroTurbine
Bosch Rexroth 120kW Traction Motors

This is by far the most quiet hybrid out in service today. The Orion VII OGs & NGs are noisemakers compared to these buses.

This bus was also on routes like the M6, 98, Q32 and several others. There are only a few routes left to test on including the M20, 21 and 22.

bout time they made a hybrid bus wide instead of thin and tight like NG's.

Yes! I couldnt agree more! This bus is more spacious then those dreaded NGs, but the NGs perform better than these buses.

How is the ride quality on these compared to other units in the fleet?

In my opinion, better than most of the buses, I personally choose this bus over the NG hybrids.

Yea NG's does ride betta. but i hope that Queens will get da Eco-Saver IV and work 4 NYCTA not MTA BUS

Same here. I was blown away the day 1302 first entered service. I can't wait till I ride one on the M21.
