With high tech LED flashlights getting more and more complicated, the Maglite XL50 keeps it simple but still offers a taste of high tech performance at a fraction of the cost of more advanced lights.
For $30 you get a solid and reliable 3 AAA powered, 104 lumen flashlight with High, Low, & Strobe modes. To engage each mode you quickly press the power button 1, 2, or 3 times respectively. I found the power button an absolute delight to use as it is very quiet, very quick, and has a super consistent, almost "muted snap-like" feel that screams high quality. It also has a high quality series of electrical contacts that have proven 100% reliable in the 9+ months I have been using it (no palm smacking needed).
The XL50 is a great choice for work (such as a mechanic or maintenance tech) or EDC if you can get past the 1" thickness. It would also be an excellent light to keep in your vehicle - it is small enough to fit in the smallest of glove boxes but it likely wont get lost in the nether region between a seat and center console. Since the reflector gives more of a tight spot pattern than a widespread beam, this light would be good medium distance search light. Given the quick actuation of the switch, the XL50 also makes a pretty good self-defense light. Whether you need to illuminate your path to your car in a dark parking lot or use the strobe to blind an attacker, this light will allow you to do it quickly.
Simply put, I don't see how you can go wrong by picking up one of these. Even if it doesn't become your daily go-to light, you WILL find a use for it and you will be better prepared for having it.
You can spin the head-tightening it down all the way give you the most focused beam which is what I show in the vid. Unscrewing the head will make the beam less focused and dimmer but it is sort of pointless because the edges of the beam become blocked by the reflector as it moves away from the LED so the beam does not get any wider-thats why

@TopCityGear (cont.) I'm not sure why any one would want to do that. As you unscrew the head it gets too loose for my comfort, unlike the standard Maglites.

Thanks man,but can you check does xl50 have that option beacuse I can see on this package of xl50 there is some picture that shows you can spin the head of the flashlight, please check that, thanks :)

@MCSpijun What is shown in the vid is as small of a spot as is possible with this light. There will always be a spill beam around the center spot with this light. This light will not focus all of its light into a center spot like the traditional maglites do.

Is there an option to "small" the circle of light...to be one small point which can have more distance of light ?
sorry for my bad english :)

@MCSpijun Haha, I knew what you were getting at :) The beam as shown in the video is as "small" or "focused" as the light gets. I'm not sure this light was intended to be "focusable" like the regular style Maglites. And it has pretty good "distance" or "throw" as is. Thanks for watching, Drew
