    By the way, true fire suits weren't even available until a couple of years after this. Driver's coveralls were just cotton treated with a fire retardant. Basically the same stuff as baby pajama suits.

    They actually tried using nylon for a few years (easy wash), until they found out, the hard way, what a bad idea THAT was.
