Ever consider the alternative uses for that little piece of prime urban street space you are renting when you feed a parking meter? VPSN's public art working group parked our vehicle (a wheelbarrow) and a bench in a spot on Main Street, and spent the day chatting with people passing by. By turning parking spots into temporary parks, Park(ing) Day raises awareness of how much of our city is given over to cars.
