This is a recent trip I took to Ghana West Africa, orginating at London Heathrow Terminal 5.

This was my first trip out of Terminal 5 and my first aboard a 777 aircraft equipped with Rolls Royce Trent engines.

Now that I've flown both I find that I prefer the sound of the General Electric GE90 over that of the Rolls Royce Trent 895. The Rolls Royce engines have a deep powerful throaty sound versus the classic whine of the GE90s.

I was unable to get a better close up of the engine as I was juggling carrying my camcorder along with a carry-on and laptop up the steps :(

Camera used was a Sony DCR-TRV80 semi-pro MiniDV camcorder. It has decent low-light capabilities but I found its autofocus a bit suspect.

  • nice video!!!!!!!! im travelling to nigeria in 2 weeks time with BA !! cant wait!!!!!!!! :)

  • @unchenchen Have a great flight. I believe BA flies 747s to Nigeria? Been a long time since I flew on a 747. I'm envious :)

  • hey where did you fly to on the 777 with GE engines and did BA ever take the 777 with GE engines to Accra please reply.

  • @KYLEAKAFLYBOIK The majority of my flights, see my other videos, are from Gatwick Airport to Barbados. I believe BA only fly GE 777s out of Gatwick.

Heathrow is the luck of the draw. My flight to Accra as shown was a Rolls Royce equipped 777, however the return flight was done by a GE 777.

  • @francisville1 The Rolls Royce is preffered by the majority of airlines though the GE's are good as well. Overall the Rolls Royce edges it with performance, efficiency and range. However the new Rolls Royce 1000 outclass every GE and Pratt & Witney engine currently available. I love GE and Rolls Royce but hate Pratt & Witney lol

  • GE90 And Roll Royce Trent 800 which of the two is more powerful and efficient ?

  • Thats an apron outside the terminal. Guess gate (w/ jetways) parking was full. All airports have outside parking. Some even lack Terminal parking w/ jetways.

  • @raykrislianggi

    Same here!

  • Yeah...they fly 747-400's to lagos, Nigeria....you ever been?

  • Building? So Heathrow is building covered walk ways...?

  • Never take those seats on aircraft !. In case on UEF you're done.

  • @2pb yh 747s to fly to nigeria!!!! ahhhhhhh cant wait!!!!!!!!
