@cfdman2000 But where do you get your sources from? Do you honestly believe that Egyptian sources are not biased? Western sources can be gleaned from the commanders of both sides. This video is actually cut from a bigger documentary from a US site, and the poster omits all mentions of Israeli successes. The full documentary also shows a British interview with an Egyptian general.
@cfdman2000 How do you know? Have you ever read these books, or are you just making assumptions? On documentaries, I've seen interviews with fairly neutral historians such as Kenneth Pollack. What's even more telling is that General Shazly himself admits the defeats Egypt suffered later in the war, the encirclement of the 3rd Army, and accused Sadat of screwing up the war. His book is of course banned in Egypt.
@cfdman2000 A "ghost port"? The IDF took 1,500 Egyptian prisoners. The rest of the Egyptians retreated and held a hill near the city. And Suez may not have been occupied, but it was totally surrounded, and the IDF occupied its outskirts.
@cfdman2000 Now they can. Back then, Israel didn't have the advanced warships and subs it does now. It had a small, fast-attack missile boats with limited range.
@warpedcomedy i keep telling you ... go to library and grasb a book of these " natural westeren resources" ... go to their reference sectionof the book ... read their references .. all of it are Isaeli sources. This so called westeren sources keep inviting Isaeli generals to talk about this war ... and do not give the same time for Egyptians .. check history channel .. you will find it biased interviews are in favor of Israel .... anyway .. we do not care .. actions speaks louder than words.
@warpedcomedy Thats another lie .. i will tell you why .. you know that IDF failed in its attack on the city of Suiz ... Adabiya port is 17 km from suiz , so ofcourse it was obanded because of war since 1967 ... so you basically occupied a ghost port ... can you see now who your Iseali propaganda is fill of lies. that is why God gave you brain to use it and make your own judgment on what you read or hear ... so USE IT
@warpedcomedy you know this is not true ... your warships can reach yemen indeed , also your submarines can , so why they did not go to show their might :)
@cfdman2000 The Red Sea was out of the maximum range of any vessel in the Israeli Navy. Israel's blockade was enforced by naval boats based at Sharm el-Sheikh and the Sinai coast near the Gulf of Suez, and much of the Egyptian coastline was vulnerable, but the Red Sea was too far away for naval and air forces to reach. Yet Israel found other ways to get oil tankers through despite the blockade and mining of the Gulf of Suez.
