  • This is a good start for an Oratory. The topic has potential, you just need to research a little more and find things your audience can associate themselves with.

Also, make sure you are truly passionate about your topic. Your audience can tell when there is no emotion or passion behind your words, and a speech with no passion can't win.

As far as gestures go, put specific gestures at specific parts, then keep your hands at your side so nobody is distracted.

  • Build logic & structure. Your key contentions: 1) Music censorship is illegitimate because it can't work. 2) Bad outcomes have causes other than music. 3) The 1st amendment outlaws censorship.

    1. Not a strong point. Repeal laws against murder & speed limits because people kill & cars speed?

    2. Are bad outcomes the only reason for music censorship? Should all music be permitted, incl. music promoting rape, incest, racism?

    3. Understand the values & issues behind 1st amendment.

    Great start.

  • Good start.

You might want to improve on emphasis. Add emphasis to stats, or facts. Shows more passion towards the topic.

Also O.O, should be 7-10 minutes long.

Avoid movement in the hands that is not needed; locking the hands, playing with the hands, touching your hair, other movement with the hands between gestures. Have a set place that does not look weird to place your hands when your are done with gestures. Less confusion for the judges.

    Other than that good job.
