@poisontdt Elfen Lied is German for Elf Song and it's a poem. Read the translation of the poem and you'll know why the series was named after that.

Elfen Lied is a German poem, believe it or not. Though it has no significance to this show... And it isn't pronounced how it looks either.

@poisontdt In the manga Elfen Lied was the name of the song which had the same significance as Lilium only it was more important, there was an extra character who taught it to Lucy and I think she sang it at the end. In the anime this was replaced by Lilium and significance was reduced.

I think, I haven't actually read the manga. XD

Kohta lied to Lucy in their childhood,because of that lie she killed his sister and dad,as well as other people in the festival.All I know is,it was a significant part of the anime.Not sure about the Elfen part though.Maybe it's another way to say Kohta or something?
