Dinesh D'souza is at a loss for words when confronted by a question that so graciously shows the stupidity of religious myths.

The video is a satire in response to the Richard Dawkins stumped video hoax.

Richard Dawkins' explanation to what happened in the original hoax video (there are currently more than one version):

In September 1997, I allowed an Australian film crew [from the then Answers in Genesis] into my house in Oxford without realising that their purpose was creationist propaganda. In the course of a suspiciously amateurish interview, they issued a truculent challenge to me to give an example of a genetic mutation or an evolutionary process which can be seen to increase the information in the genome. It is the kind of question only a creationist would ask in that way, and it was at this point I tumbled to the fact that I had been duped into granting an interview to creationists - a thing I normally dont do, for good reasons. In my anger I refused to discuss the question further, and told them to stop the camera. However, I eventually withdrew my peremptory termination of the interview as a whole. This was solely because they pleaded with me that they had come all the way from Australia specifically in order to interview me. Even if this was a considerable exaggeration, it seemed, on reflection, ungenerous to tear up the legal release form and throw them out. I therefore relented.

My generosity was rewarded in a fashion that anyone familiar with fundamentalist tactics might have predicted. When I eventually saw the film a year later 1, I found that it had been edited to give the false impression that I was incapable of answering the question about information content 2. In fairness, this may not have been quite as intentionally deceitful as it sounds. You have to understand that these people really believe that their question cannot be answered! Pathetic as it sounds, their entire journey from Australia seems to have been a quest to film an evolutionist failing to answer it.

  • Even people who fail to use perfect grammar deserve proper responses. Ridiculing people for their skill or fluency in English helps no one.

In addition, I would say that this is hardly effective satire. You've merely copied the Dawkins interviewers, and it comes off as an underhanded trick rather than a rebuke of their methods. It's little wonder people don't get the point.

  • @chernobility If you think that your, incidentally correct, observation that this is probably the worst parody ever is responsible for people not getting it, I'm sorry, you're wrong. I've had people here claiming I added the word parody in the title after they commented.

People just don't read and at large aren't interested in what is intended to be conveyed but are far more comfortable just asserting whatever supports their preconceived notions.

  • But I'm glad to see there are also people like you around who actually give the video the critique it obviously deserves, although I disagree with your claim that the method of the Dawkins' interviewers needs some form of elaborate rebuke. I always felt that the silliness of this poorly made parody attempt suited the laughably pathetic doctoring of the original interview, making the weakness of this parody a point in itself.

  • @chernobility And as far as your comment goes about the use of proper English/grammar, you wouldn't be throwing that at me if you had read what he spammed me with in personal messages. You'd be crying, like I did.

    a sample:

"Not only but great atheist of all time even never could explain such question."

    or:

"For example, atheists says, earth is millions and millions years old. Question is how you know ? Who told you ? Did any one from your group was there ?"

A proper response? Get real sir.

  • Don't make fool to people by editing and fabrication of the original video.

If you were able to actually use your brain and perhaps learn to read and write in the foreign langue of choice for this wonderful medium known as the Internet, which apparently is English, you just might get the point of a video before you leave asinine remarks in its comment section.

But don't be alarmed by your lack of appreciation. you are certainly not the first, nor the last person who doesn´t get that a video is posted as a parody, even though this mentioned in the title.

  • @mikeymensa There's an old book, only € 24,99, if you can afford it, which actually explains how people can be this gullible.

'The believing Brain' by Micheal Shermer

There are a few chapters on how the brain fights the battle between beliefs and reasoned explanations.

Believing in Aliens, global conspiracies, snake oil salesmen, religion and the supernatural at large, are all in there.

Also there is a nice DVD with a list of organisations such like yourself, that should go to prison.

  • @AtheismIzMadness The cold war ended decades ago, sir. Try to keep up.

I hear you. Christians celebrate Abram's "faith" for disobeying god's previous command not to murder. Would god have ignited his anger for Abram obeying Gen9 not to kill? Instead,Abram disobeys this listening to a voice and is praised for attempting to kill and burn his son. Sick stuff man.

  • @shave23 May I recommend English in this forum?
