I noticed upon installing Assassins Creed on my PC that the cut scene and storyline character dialogue simply wasn't there - I couldn't hear anyone talking.
Here is a quick guide on fixing it.
Update:
Hey chaps, I've had quite a few replies for this now... firstly, sorry for the bad audio quality on this video and the bad resolution. Secondly, these sound issues are being caused by your PC basically not being able to decode or handle the high quality sound being fed out by Assassins creed.
Now, if this video doesn't work for you (the procedure is very similar on vista and windows 7, I believe instead of sounds and audio devices its simply 'sound' however) then what you need to do is grab a sound card.
EDIT: For windows 7 users, you have a drop-down box instead. Choose the lowest quality setting. See this screenshot: http://www.pwnz.co.uk/sound.png
Personally, I've lived with naff sound for too long so I splashed out on this at ebuyer this week:

Its a bit pricey but its bloody good quality sound. I've always had audio problems and issues with my 5.1 surround sound, this fixed everything with minimal input from me. Its also Vista and Windows 7 compatible, and uses that tiny PCI Express 1x slot on your motherboard. I'm running a 64bit Windows 7 RC so there are no 64bit incompatibilities I'm aware of, and it comes packaged with XP and Vista drivers - windows 7 simply uses the vista ones.
I recommend it for anyone attempting to use anything over 5.1 or better, but it is a bit pricey.
If you are having very specific technical issues with games please post them here (not specifically Assassins Creed), I'm a technical engineer by profession so I'll try and help you out - there is nothing more frustrating than a f**king game you have been waiting SO long to play not-bloody-working-properly.
Anyhow, I'm rambling. Cheers chaps, and best of luck :)
i have another problem, they talk out of turn
