Powerful Djalu F/F# - rare key for a Djalu yirdaki

This is a superb yirdaki made by Djalu that plays in the key of F fundamental and F# overtone. Most of Djalu's instruments are Es and lower, so this is an uncommon - and highly desirable - key for Arnhem Land's most collectible and famous didgeridoo maker.

Typical of Djalu's best work, this yirdaki has 'thick' powerful acoustics with a strong defined voice. It has the thunderous quality that Djalu says is important for Galpu yirdaki, a reference to his clan's connection to Wititj the Olive Python.

This is a lively player with excellent resonance, loudness and power. Overtones notes are easily hit and natural. The mouthpiece is particularly well made, perfect in size and shape and also smooth and comfortable to play on.
