As a descendent of the French settlers that settled NA around 1655, established here before most Anglos, I will say that many Natives here in Louisiana are my true friends. The past should be left as that, no matter how tragic it was. This land is my land as well as yours my native friends. If I found out my black hair and darker complexion was not just Mediterrian European, I would not be offended but proud of it. The past is the past. and let us ALL get over it and live together.
