  • @desiredfx To place the soft palate forward. If you stick your finger in your mouth feel the roof, it's hard (as in it feels hard), right? Now bring your finger a little further back still feeling the roof of your mouth..it's soft now, right? That's the soft palate. And placing it forward is making it go up (how it automatically does when you yawn)for more room for the air to come out and come in. It reduces strain and helps produce a more powerful sound. So yawning is good to keep it like that.

  • @hobo1975 I think this is to help your throat relax while at the same time covering your entire vocal range. thats why she started so high and gradually went down :) but I think petrina1022 has a more intelligent sounding answer soooo go with that? lol

  • god damn, take a fucking jog...

  • Umm What was the point of this video?

  • your so nasal!

yawning and sighing is wrong for singing, you only stiffen the throat.

  • The "yawning" or "sighing" technique is indeed an essential part of learning to sing properly, but this is not a good demonstration because her voice is breathy, the quality inconsistent moving through the "passaggio" (break) and is not being produced with the correct diaphragmatic support. ("appoggio" technique)

  • That's exactly what my teacher tells me to do ^_^

  • that was very good, i feel my voice going to a much better place for singing :)
