This is the Schecter Damien Elite 8 String Guitar, one of Schecter's most popular extended range instruments, done in a Limited Edition Silver Burst finish only available here at PGS. The Damien Elite 8 String comes loaded with active EMG 808 pickups to translate the massive low end information this thing pumps out, and controls for volume, tone, and 3-way switching give you a variety of tonal options. Other highlights include black chrome hardware, gothic cross fretboard inlays, and a bolt-on maple neck with graphite truss rods. These Limited Edition Schecter Damien Elite 8-string guitars will go fast, so grab one before they're gone. - http://proguitarshop.com/store/guitars-schecter-guitars-c-1_29/schecter-damie...

  • Fender amps just do NOT like anything with more than 6 strings.

Might wanna get an axe-fx in on this one guys!

  • @BaphometStudios No Fenders being used on this one. That was an Orange Rockerverb.

  • everything looked much more appealing with the red cloth background.

  • @Antilevitation Yep. Our competitors liked it so much that they copied us! So we decided to change it up.

  • What kind of gear has been used in this demo?

PGS hasn't sounded that brutal before. :O

  • @MrJesusCrisp - Thanks! We used a combination of an Orange Rockerverb 50 and a direct sound run through an amp simulator. The Rockerverb has a nice, aggressive midrange punch, while the DI captures the full low-end spectrum. Shake well, blend to taste.

  • shitty tone at the beginning, best approach if you have the right kinda money, go with Ibanez Prestige RG2228 with emg 808s, Mesa boogie head and a Orange cabinet with axe fx2 cant go wrong with that setup =)

  • @zdkezios Actually, it's a whole step away from the low E on a bass. For me, that's the point. I started out playing bass and moved to the guitar, but sometimes I still feel like I'm missing those lows in a riff or solo. This is a great instrument if you have a need to switch between bass and guitar roles (if your bassist has poor practice attendance like mine), if you want to be an all-encompassing solo performer, or just if you want to double up on the bass with a different tone.

  • deftones!

  • I dunno, man. I get seven strings, but eight? There's a point where you have to think, "Should I be playing a bass instead?" I mean, the lowest string is F# right? Isn't that just a whole step away from the high E on a bass?

  • So these eight string guitars don't tend to blow the speakers on normal guitar amps if you crank the amp up with a lot of distortion?

  • deftones song ftw

  • Rocket Skates!!!! \m/

  • What is the access to the higher frets like on this guitar? The low tones are sounding brilliant, just concerned about the highs

  • might as well use a bass amp with a distorion pedal

  • Tuning?
