Hi everyone:-) I turn to the old Harmony baritone Uke
when my soul needs a lil' soothing...............past couple months
hmmmm...got a lil beat up..but the van is fixed, the tooth, departed,
the eye will eventually lose it's rich purple hue....LOL
it's the little things that bring me joy,...for instance:
these lil songsters are my nighttime audience..the day
belongs to the songbirds......I sometimes wonder
if they think a big bird or bug lives here, in this house...
they do make a lovely chorus.....LOL
this is a primitive recording...I achieve the primitive
by making an initial audio file...then writing it to disc,
playing it over my boombox, and re-recording a second track,
right over the top, trying to make an OK balance of volumes......
it is a lil LO-TECH escape, for me,
...I hope it will be one for you, as well,......
Sweet Dreams!
XOS, Laurie

  • Really nice video Laurie :)

My parents cant hear crickets any more. That is sad isnt it ?

  • @UnluckyMum thankyou so much1 your folks, very sad, and I can so relate....my pa has lost almost all of his hearing (88)...used to love music, and sadly cannot hear mine, which would be lovely to share...he is who i can thank for my voice , singing , my own love of music..mine starting to dim a little too....I don't hear as well as i used to, either.. in addition to eye protection, I'm wearing ear protection too now..working in the yard:-)

  • I remember hearing when Buddy Holly's band played in the garage, the crickets were always there to keep them company. That;s why they named their band the Crickets. Don't know about the Beatles..heheh.

Last night when I turned on the porch light, a huge cicada attacked me. Well, it didn't really attack but it sure feels like that when they hit ya screaming.

Your uke soothed my soul too, Laurie. love it! be well!

  • @BigLoveZone OOOOOOOoooooooo......Bobbie, I like bugs, but not the dive bomber ones!!!! LOL. I had a wasp bite, too, to go along with the achin' tooth and black eye (weedeater got me)...but even at that, felt lucky --i narrowly missed a bees nest, underground...was standing on top of it....it was the bbbbzzzzzz that alerted me--I live dangerously, in my own backyard! hehehe glad you had a safe getaway, here;-)thanks Bobbie!

    XOS, Laurie

Your crickets are a lot purtier than mine.

I just posted a short vid with the tree frogs in full

chorus, they need a good baritone in the group.
