On August 21st, 2007 the Montana Legislative Audit Committee met to discuss the use of funds to fight wild fires.
Representative Sinrud (R-Bozeman) had this to say: "... we've gone from fire protection or I would assume fighting wild fires to structure protection. Where is it that we have to protect those structures? Why not just let them Burn?"

Tell Rep. Sinrud how you feel: http://sinrud.com/Contact%20John.htm

  • Wow.. this guy's a douchebag.

  • Maybe now others can see the corruption in the world hopefully the right people see this, ie the ones who can prevent it...

    Someone who cares

  • The GOP did a heck of a job on New Orleans.

That was the thinking that lead them to look forward to the job of rebuilding New Orleans with corrupt contractors using illegal Columbian laborers instead of avoiding the catastrophe with proper dikes or limiting the casualties with competent warnings and appropriate transportation.

  • actually, i suspect he is more of the libertarian type R (not all that dissimilar from D-type libetarians) who want to downsize government completely ("'until it's small enough to drown in the bathtub" - grover norquist). you know, the "i got mine, so f#ck off" types.

  • Structures...?! F**king bastard, those structures are peoples HOMES. Their entire life could be destroyed by these ravaging fires, and you want to LET THEM BURN?????

    F**K YOU!

  • Another Family Values douche bag. They preach the compassion of Christ without actually practicing it.

  • I see no problem with his comment. It costs millions of dollars to fight these fires which are natural just to protect houses. i think this is the way of the future, requiring people to make their houses fireproof, mandatory distances from a house that any tree can be. You cant keep repressing the fires to protect homes, just makes the fires worse. Fires are part of the ecosystem.

  • I hope that all the INDEPENDENTS are listening and that the REPUBLICANS start to repudiate these people that they've put into office. Are there any interviews of people from these cities? Are the DEMOCRATS doing anything to get good progressives running against these idiots?

Is the motivation development? (as in the recent wildfires that devastated Greece)

  • Why not?

  • That's a Republican alright. They are not rich and white so why protect them?
