  • There are hundreds and hundreds of this type of cars EVERYWHERE

  • I visited Venezuela in 1999 and this struck me also. The cars of course are ten years older now. One thing I remember was the persistent smell of gasoline on highways and wherever these big hulking old cars were idling, presumably because the engines are old and there is little incentive to fix gas leaks.
