What a geek. ...and I'd be acting the exact same way. Very cool man.

COOLEST DAD EVER.

ARE THE BRAKES IN THE REAR OR THE FRONT? I HAVE A GOPED GO QUAD THE GAS ONES AND THE BRAKES ARE IN THE BACK SO I DONT THINK I CAN DRIFT BECAUSE THEY COUNTER EACH OTHER THE MOTOR AND THE BRAKES. THANK YOU THIS WAS GREAT IM REALLY PROUD OF WHAT YOU ACCOMPLISHED REALLY GOOD JOB!

@b0bsaget007 depends how fast your going, think of a gas engine, the more throttle you give it the faster you go.but on another bike the less throttle you give it the longer you can go. with a smaller gas tank of running wide open on the first bike.

hey man can you help me? i got a small mini drill press i got from work and a I modifed pocket bike frame to be the size of a mini bike frame and i want to know if i have to use an inverter to get more amps and stuff out of a car batterie i want to run it off. but i only want to use one batterie

What's the top speed coming off a level surface?
I saw that you got a little over 62 MPH coming off a hill.
Is it still running....or did you eventually cook the batteries?
Crazy ride man....wish I were there :)

does it run longer with 6 batteries?
or will 4 batteries go as far?

Now THIS is my idea of a go-kart! Your brilliant engineering skills plus your crazy-cool character (I have 2:14 in my mind ;D) reminds me of an evil mad scientist! Keep up the awesome work!

You hit that bump so hard you hurt the person behind the camera!

Both karts are able to tow the trailer I got for moving them around. I can do "hay rides" .

PWMs are common nowadays, but it's not practical to drive something as big as a go-kart with a resistive throttle or, worse, a on-off switch.
MAKE SURE TO GET A PWM MOTOR CONTROLLER.
I hear you can get motors from golf cart supply places... check around online, maybe send a private message to the owner of this video.

The motor and controller are indeed designed for things like golf carts and forklifts. It is a PWM controller controlled by a resistive throttle. The throttle merely tells the controller what duty cycle it should put out based on throttle position. This kart is putting a bit over 20kW into the motor. Reversing is done using a relay - the relay reverses the polarity of the motor field with respect to the armature.

hey is was wondering what kind of weld machine do you have.

I used to use a 135A Clarke, but it died. I replaced it with a 135A Hobart, which is now part of Miller. It's a great machine.
