Bill Miller, host and producer of Global Connections Television, interviewed Arnaldo Vieira de Carvalho, Sustainable Energy Specialist, SECCI, Inter-American Development Bank and Daniel Faustin, MD, Executive Vice President, SIMACT, Inc. They discussed the IDBs work in energy, Latin Americas achievements in renewable energy and SIMACTs work to reduce cutting down of forests in Haiti through importing scrap wood for charcoal. They also talked about individual responsibility, energy conservation and cane-based ethanol production. Discussion focused on the Dominican Republic and Haiti and Brazils experience.

The interview followed the 7 May 2009 Public-Private Alliance Foundations Third Annual Partners Against Poverty event at the UN, a discussion on Business Model Innovation for Investment Partnerships for Ethanol Development and Production.
