I decided to work on my 48 Willys today. I hadn't had it running since December, and reading some stories on the CJ-2A forum, I found motivation to get out there and tinker. Sorry for there being no sound, like my other two movies, this one was shot with my digital camera in movie mode.

  • i saw the add for this very jeep in old car trader a few years back.....makes me wish i would of picked it up.

  • Yep, thats where I saw it for sale too. I still have it. If you look further into my videos, youll see that the engine is now removed though. Still have the hardtop. Ill sell both my Willys' if you know someone interested.

  • w8, u have 2 gas tanks?? cuz i see the one under the drivers seat, but that is a gas tank on the fender???

  • Yeah, I was using the jug until I got the new tank under the seat. Then I found out my hard lines leak, so I switched back to the jug until I get more lines.

  • love the jeep! i just bought one yesterday for 900 bux the body is like perfect condition the people we bought it from just quit driving it and let it sit in the yard for 7 years everything is origional even the tire tread i was amazed that they where selling it for 900 bux

  • Nice I would KILL for that hardtop on it in the first pic, Do you know of ANY place that make reproductions? I just got a 46 CJ2A, I've got a besttop on it now but I want a hardtop for it.

Also Mine had a pinto motor swap in it when i got it but the engine was locked up, does anyone know what motors will bolt up to the pinto motor's bolt pattern? If I'm not mistaken I believe the ford ranger has one that will work. Any help??? I would put the hurricane or L head back in it but can't find one.

  • unfortunately. no, although i did have one a few years ago...it was a basketcase. motor froze and rusted beyond rebuilding....body was shot and pieces of bondo were fallin off. frame was swiss cheese, no title. serial 32###. got it for 100 bucks. bought it to restore but then used it for parts for my old 47. its to bad because it had some rare parts on it that we're usable. like the governor T-handle, column shift knob and some others.

  • they look so fun. ill trade the 8n for the cj lol jk man lol jk jk

  • oh lol, on my jeep the gas tank has a rust hole in it, i ordered a new one, but for now im using a plastic container to lol
