Instead, sell your macbook and get a real laptop like a Macbook Pro. You'll be happy and unless you need a real lot of power, you won't need a desktop.

How does this thing stack against a 3.4 Pentium 4 with HT? My Dell just died and I may buy a secondhand iMac G5.... I've got a Macbook, but I need a desktop computer also....

PowerPC does NOT suck at all. And, like TwiceToldCinema said, it's a 1.6 GIGAHERTZ CPU not Megahertz. They haven't have 1MHz systems for ages.

Intel Macs have FAR better performance than that little Megahertz CPU.
