This is the igbodu of the house, the room where all of the orishas are kept. In it are my Orishas, my brothers, My mom's, My sister in law's and my niece's lol. Quite a lot!
Either way I showed mine mostly which I have received. I love receiving new Orishas always and am working on receiving more.
Enjoy the video and ask away!
Check out my online store at sweetonidesigns.etsy.com for handmade things by me and for workings!
Many Blessings!

  • i understand the definition of an orisha - but do not understand the symbolism in this room. They look like mostly decorated vases to me...could you explain in more detail how and why orishas are "made", how and why one comes to collect them this way? Thanks

  • @Bhav341 ok, the vases are the vessels in which the orishas implements are kept. it is called the house of the orisha because thats where the consecrated tools and body of the Orisha live. most people will drape beaded necklaces over the vessels to "adorn" the orisha and will add crowns and different things that have to do with the orisha. as to how the Orisha is made... well those are secrets of the religion how the orisha is consecrated into material being.

  • @Bhav341 and "collecting them" is the new term that people use now a day to say that someone has a lot more than the usual person Orishas. this is usually people like me who are training to be Obbases or people who call themselves OMO-DELE, or keepers of the temple.

  • @asieloshunyeyeo thanks for the explanation. is it typical for one to create the orisha themselves, or to get them from someone else? or both?

  • @Bhav341 you do not create an orisha, an orisha is a living energy and you "receive it" from someone who has received it already. when the ceremony is done the orisha is consecrated from spiritual to physical and its"birthed" for you. you always receive the orisha from someone who got it from someone and so forth, thats called the "lineage". no need to apologize ask away any questions & i will answer to the best of my abilities. Ashe!!!

  • Great videos. I'm newly initiated in this wonderful religion and find them useful. It'd be really helpful if you could make some videos of the offerings that we can make to our guerreros when we need help with different situations. Ashe.

  • @LorenaC78 Thank you! I'm working on a series of orishas videos now so people know more about them but soon after I will do other videos with offerings, prayers and songs :)
