I was talking about Washington. Spending money on schools does not improve education...it's been proven over and over.

Funding for public schools in Seattle come from both the city and the state. When there is corruption in our schools district, you don't stop funding the district, you deal with the corruption. The choice shouldn't be big vs. small government, but smart and decentralized government vs. centralized government.
Also, which state are you talking about, Washington or Texas?

Are the schools funded by the city in Seattle? If so, I wouldn't cut the education budget 100%. Where I come from (Dallas, TX), schools are funded by the school district, not the city.
Even the schools though can stand a budget cut. Very little of the money spent on education in this state winds up in the classroom. We are wrought with corruption at every level.
Emergency services such as police, fire, and EMT.

the tunnel will costs two times the entire light rail line and have no exits downtown. why would anyone want that?

No funding for education? This kind of policy will send us back to the stone age. Every prosperous part of this country has done exactly the opposite. Alabama effectively does what your talking about, and it's not the best place to live.
It feels good to know that Satellites will never do something like this.
Also, what exactly is an emergency service?

Here's an idea: Cut taxes by 50% and spending by 70%, accross the board.

This is unorthadox indeed. A guy standing in front of a whiteboard with diagrams, using buzzwords like "Open Source", "Robust Online Presence" and "Move Forward". A cellphone company executive would have never been able to pull off something so revolutionary.
It's all good though Mike, as long as it turns out you weren't lying about not standing in the way of the tunnel.
